Privacy: this one's a tie
Plenty of comparisons on this site turn on where your audio goes. Not this one. MacWhisper runs Whisper models locally and asks for no account; Callmora transcribes and labels speakers on your Mac, offline, and asks for no account either. Both keep the recording on your machine, and neither puts anything into the call.
The one thing worth knowing about Callmora: two features are opt-in and do leave the Mac if you turn them on. Cloud transcription sends audio to AssemblyAI on your own key, and AI notes & chat send the transcript text to whichever model you configure — your key, or a fully local model through a custom endpoint. Nothing ever passes through a Callmora server, because there isn't one.
